Trouble Within
Albox Blog has received an e-mail from someone purporting to be a ‘disgruntled AUAN member’, indicating that the membership of the AUAN is dwindling in light of recent criticism about the association and it’s president, Bob Preston. According to our source, only about 30 of the group have paid to renew their membership, and Mr Preston has had to announce at the recent AUAN meeting that ‘it may be beneficial for the AUAN to federate with the AUN and with the Catatral Group (Murcia area), both of which have high membership numbers.’ Our source fears that this is an indication that the AUAN no longer have sufficient membership to be considered relevant.
The ‘disgruntled member’ stated that Bob Preston had apologised for cancelling a demonstration at Almeria citing that there had ‘not been enough time to visit Almeria to find out where the appropriate government building was located to stage the demonstration or to apply for the permit to demonstrate.’ However, our source questioned the reasons given by Mr Preston, adding that he was experienced at arranging demonstrations and would know what preparations were required. The ‘disgruntled member’ stated that the cancellation of the demonstration may have had more to do with concerns reported on local forums about a leaked e-mail from Mr Preston stating that the AUAN could ‘return to the bad old days of confrontation and aggression’ at demonstrations. Our source finished by stating that Mr Preston had also been asked not to attend the demonstration at Vera over concerns about the demonstration descending into violence and that this had been reported in the Spanish Shilling.

As an ex member of the AUAN I have to agree with your “source” on this post. I left the AUAN because of the bully boy tactics of Bob Preston, Bob Morland et all. Their rants and strategy only serve to ailenate us further from the local community without solving any of the problems. It is clear that they do not know how to deal with the Spanish and jump from one thing to another without solving anything. A complete waste of my money. I for one am ashamed to have even allowed myself to have become associated with them in the first place!

hi i am quite new to this area and we are very happy here but i must say that on looking back at these forums and blogs and your thread BRICKHEAD posted recently gives us some concerns you sound quite agressive for one thing you should not call these people pratts even if they are perhaps BOB PRESTON AND BOB MORLAND simply did not have a good education or worst still a poor upbringing or poor background it may not be thier fault at all we for are part should try and help educate them.

Hello my name is Claire I have lived here for awhile now. I was a member of the AUAN but decided not to renew my membership this year 2008 as I have some reservations about the way that the organisation is going and in particular the Leadership of Bob Preston I am afraid that he does not represent any longer the real views of us Brits and if I am honest I have looked at the LVDA organisation and find that they represent my views much better and have now joined up.

When GMTV did their very one-sided report on Albox, some of Bob Preston’s cronies were happy to denounce the area on British TV. Two of the outspoken Preston ‘gang of four’ who maligned the area on the programme were Mr and Mrs Pumfleet.
The effect of all the bad publicity that these people have created has contributed in forcing the area into economic decline. Other British businesses have closed and people have had to go back to the UK as they have been laid off. For many, their little exposé was the last nail in the coffin.
The Pumfleets run the mobile fish and chip stall, ‘Fry Days’, that parks outside the Virgin del Saliente School on Friday evenings. They dump their dirty fat on the road at their development to the disgust and annoyance of all their neighbours. We Brits need to send people like this a clear message. I for one will not be eating their soggy greasy grub.

my husband and i tried their fish and chips didnt like them cooked in dirty fat or something so we wont be going there again out of curiosity do they have any experience in this buisness .

To whom it may concern……..
I for one love Frydays fish and chips… They cook in clean fat and are very friendly… They owned a fish and chip restaurant in the Uk that was very highly recommended and was in a Good Food magazine for all the time they owned it. The council are not closing them down i have heard they are doing very well and are very happy with the CUSTOMERS they get each and every week.
Also the gmtv programme… Did any off you actually watch it? They didnt slate Albox at all… In fact their daughter said that she liked Albox and they did not put the last nail in the coffin… Albox is dying and people dont wish to recognize it.
I for one still am a member of the AUAN they have done nothing but try and help everyone INCLUDING people who slate them off. I think you should all have a good look in a mirror and think before you sit on your computors and spread your visious poison.!

Oh dear! here we go again, it looks like SBaker has found another alias and another platform to vent his poisonous spitle at with regard to Bob Preston and the AUAN.

1. Tony Mason is no longer the Vice President of La Voz de Albox he resigned in a letter to Peter Murphy (Procoal) stating that he could not work any longer with the association due to the lies and untruths he had received.
2. Las Fuentas is no longer Las Fuentas it is now Bar 116 and with regard to being a Pole Dancing Club, Oh Dear! when they were doing the refurb. they forgot one vital thing (NO POLES) still there are a couple of pillars so maybe they could call it a Pillar Dancing Club

Lets take your post in reverse, Ok you are still a member of the AUAN but rumour has it that their membership has dwindled right down that’s why they want to join other organizations to increase their membership. You must have more money than sense to still be a member. Can anyone of you members of this organisation show me proof of what you have gained or achieved personally except waste your hard earned money on Preston and Morland and the like.
Why doesn’t Preston or Morland stand up and defend the AUAN and tell all your membership and the world that they did not send an email stating that they would return to THE BAD OLD DAYS OF CONFRONTATION AND AGGRESSION. WHY HAS GEORGE HILTON proposed at the last AGM to all members not to respond to any questions on local forums.
Why hasn’t BOB PRESTON answered the questions about he is earning money from other peoples misery reported here on this blog by RamblaBill Feb 27 2008.

As for the GMTV program by the fact they did not say anything good about Albox and did not use their golden opportunity to promote Albox says it all, rumour has it they are very disliked where they live and cause a lot of problems.
