The Truth About Property BBC2
The BBC intend to include a report on buying property in Albox as part of their upcoming program, The Truth About Property, for Current Affairs on BBC2. BBC representative Emily Stein has invited people from the area to contact her if they have ‘unknowingly’ bought a property that faces demolition or has been demolished, or have bought a home that is now deemed illegal and are without public services. La Voz De Albox (LVDA) has grasped the nettle and offered to help the BBC interview local British expat residents and Spanish business people.

It’s great to see an association see the bigger picture and work in everyone’s best interests; offering to help the BBC produce a report that is informative and balanced whilst at the same time ensuring the issues faced by some residents in the area are not ignored, but reported and highlighted in a responsible manner.

But the LVDA are not that reliable. A local person to Albox has offered to make a film about promoting their ideas on the area. To be broadcast in Spain but not one person from the LVDA has bothered to contact him. Possibly because that same person runs the Limaria.net forum who freely permits people to post their feelings about construction in the area. Both good and bad. Makes one wonder who the representatives of the LVDA really are? The AUAN were made the same offer 18 months ago with the same response. It seems that these groups are as bad as each other.

Well Papriv looks like you got the wrong end of the stick on that one my old son. Just saw this on the Arboleas Forum.
“Phil, as you clearly requested (see below) that we did not contact you until after the 15th Feb 2008, we filed your request until this week (beginning 18 02 2008). We do feel that it is somewhat unfair to accuse us in an open forum of not responding when we were simply adhering to your wishes. However we would like to discuss your proposal in greater depth as we feel it does have real merit. We look forward to working with you on this and possibly other projects, in the near future, and welcoming you as an active member of the LVDA.

subject Film
Hi,
I would like to offer my support to the LVDA by way of making a film about the new organisation and what it is standing for.
Myself and three others are just about to finish a film for Living in Spain TV in Malaga. (Channel 293 on SKY) We interviewed the Mayors of Albox and Zurgena for it. We should get it finished this week and sent off to the TV company. I will keep you informed as to when it will be broadcast.
In the meantime, and if you are interested, perhaps we could arrange a meeting to discuss the prospect of producing a film. Once broadcast I am sure it would inspire communities in other areas to set up similar groups with the Spanish neighbours. Apart from helping get your message across. It should be possible to put Spanish subtitles on it for Spanish TV if they would broadcast it.
I am away in the UK next week, returning on the 15th Feb. So anytime that suits you after that.
Kind regards
Phil
